Drone Aerial Photography
some
advantages over traditional aerial photography
taken from fixed-wing planes:
- No security clearance / permission required.
- No security officer required to accompany plane or survey.
- Flexible short flights. Even with two or three hours
of clear weather
the Drone will fly.
- The fixed-wing plane would not.
- No additional charge for standby days.
- No risk to human lives or property.
Since late 2010 we have successfully made 300 drone flights equaling 100,000
individual frames combined to create 30,000 hectares of seamless ortho-mosaics.
The flight teams, Remote
Sensing teams and Surveyors
will be provided by EarthLine.
Approximately 30 High accuracy
(sub-meter accuracy
horizontal and
vertical) Ground Control Points will be collected throughout the estates that will be used to create the air
photo ortho-mosaic (geo-referenced) and to produce Digital Terrain Model.
In order to achieve this high accuracy, we will establish a permanent local benchmark within the estate using Bakosurtanal’s
GPS
reference point network.
Instead of a lower accuracy Differential GPS Survey using Trimble GeoXT/GeoXH Rovers, Ground
Control Points will be
measured with by a Rapid Static GPS Survey using Trimble Dual- Frequency Geodetic GPS Receivers.
The
air photo frames collected in the field
will be processed using the Ground Control Points with our advanced air photo processing software resulting in air photo ortho- mosaics and Digital Terrain
Models. 2.5m contours
and six-class slope maps will be derived
from the DTM.
City
Mapping and coconut counting will commence once the Drone Air Photo ortho-mosaics are complete.
